Terms and conditions

1. General

By accessing a website operated by START Berlin (10117 Berlin, Germany), you declare that you have understood and accepted the following Terms and Conditions. START Berlin exclusively signs contracts, which are subject to these General Terms and Conditions. Every contractual party (including any purchaser of a ticket or registering for an event or conference, or subscriber of the newsletter organized by START Berlin) agrees to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. START Berlin reserves the right to amend and/or remove these Terms and Conditions as well as any other information or content of the website at any time, to any extent, and without prior notice.

2. Prices

2.1 The ticket prices on the START Berlin websites are inclusive of value-added tax (where applicable).
2.2 Discounted tickets or tickets for a specific target group (e.g. Investors) are only valid in combination and/or in conjunction with an authorized identification qualifying for the discount/ticket-type. This must be presented upon request to gain admission to the event. If no such verification is provided, the purchased ticket is invalid, and the person will not be granted access to the event.

3. Events organized by START Berlin and/or its affiliated entities

3.1 A refund of the tickets for conferences and events is only possible up to 14 days before the event and a cancellation fee of 50% will be retained unless otherwise specified.

3.2 A refund of a ticket is only possible when returning the original ticket. If the ticket is not returned within the time limit, a refund is not possible. Additional claims (e.g. travel expenses etc.) are excluded. Thus, only the ticket price is refundable. In the event of a no-show (the cardholder does not show up at the event), there will be no refund of the ticket price.

3.3 It is possible to allocate a ticket to a third party if the ticket has been fully paid. The contact details of the new participant are to be sent to START Berlin immediately (team@start-berlin.com), at least 14 days before the event. It is not possible to change the person or organization liable for the payment.

3.4 Damaged tickets or tickets misplaced by the customer shall not, as a basic principle, be replaced or refunded.

3.5 The tickets purchased are for your own personal use or that of your business only and may not be re-sold or transferred for commercial gain under any circumstances. Where there has been any re-sale or attempted re-sale of any tickets (or any other breach of this term), we reserve the right to cancel the relevant tickets with immediate effect.

3.6 If the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (force majeure), ticket holders will be refunded the price of the ticket against the receipt. START Berlin does not hold itself liable for any other expenses incurred, except in cases of intentional acts or omissions or gross negligence. START Global strives to notify its customers of force majeure cases as quickly as possible.

3.7 In the case of either the event date or location (event venue) being changed, in general tickets remain valid.

3.8 In the case of rescheduling an event, the cardholder’s ticket may be returned by a deadline to be determined by START Berlin, preferably immediately after the announcement of the new event date. After the deadline has expired, any claims for reimbursement will expire.

4. Payment

4.1 START Berlin uses third party providers, such as Eventbritee, to provide secure online payment and ticketing services. The use of these services is subject to their own Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. There are links to these from their pages.

4.2 START Berlin may request verification of payment for the purpose of resolving possible disputes about the purchase.

5. Liability

5.1 START Berlin will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage to any person or property howsoever caused during events. Excluded from this are claims for damages of the attendee from injury to life, body and health as well as the liability for other damages which are based on an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by START Berlin e.V., its legal representatives or vicarious agents. In the case of a slightly negligent violation of these contractual obligations, START Berlin e.V. is only liable for the contract-typical, foreseeable damages, unless the attendee's claims for damages are based on injury to life, body or health.

5.2 START Berlin reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behavior which it deems unacceptable, or for breach of the Terms and Conditions.

6. Miscellaneous

6.1 These Terms and Conditions and all contractual relationships with START Berlin shall be governed exclusively by German law unless otherwise contracted.

6.2 Any contract signed by START Berlin is only legally binding if at least two members of START Berlin signed it and one of them is a board member.
